Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members picked up a Bangladeshi national from Muglibari area along Burimari border in Patgram upazila early Monday.
The victim was identified as Mofazzal Hossain, 33, son of late Abdul Hanif of Muglibari area in the upazila.
Contacted, Rangpur-61 Border Guard Battalion (BGB) acting camp commander Major Syed Moniruzzaman said
according to primary information, some cattle traders, numbering 10/12, from both countries gathered near the area of sub-pillar No 2 of main border pillar No 841 around 4:30am.
A patrol team of BSF chased them and picked up Mofazzal from the area. BGB sent a letter to the BSF seeking a flag meeting over the issue. But no reply is yet to receive, he added.
