A Bangladesh national was shot dead by members of Border Security Force (BSF) of India along Kanthaldangi border in Haripur upazila early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Ali Hossain, 18, son of Mostak Ali of Beldangi Kathaldangi village.
Locals said, BSF troops from Nargaon camp opened fire on a group of cattle traders along the border when they went there to bring cattle around 4 am, leaving Ali injured.
Later, he succumbed to his injuries when other
cattle traders were taking him to a local hospital.
LT Col Mohammad Hossain, commanding officer of BGB-50 battalion, confirmed the incident.
