A Bangladeshi youth has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for drug dealing in the UK.
Shipu Mia, 23, was arrested on June 10 last year from an apartment on Prince Meridian Walk of London W14.
Police claimed to have recovered 2kg of heroin, 1kg of cocaine, about 54kg of cutting agent, and £171,195 in cash. The Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment.
On Oct 2, he had pleaded guilty of possessing illegal
money and banned narcotics, which he intended to sell.
DC Matthew Foy of the London Metropolitan Police’s Organised Crime Command said he was happy with the verdict.
“I am delighted with the sentence handed down in this case. It sends out a clear message to those that think supplying Class A drugs is a way to earn a living.”
