Bangladesh National Football team will leave the city for Maldives today to play a FIFA friendly match against Maldives National Football team at Male on March 24. After playing the first FIFA friendly match against Maldives, Bangladesh National Football team will return home on March 25. Then, Bangladesh National Football team will play their second FIFA friendly match against Mongolia at Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet on March 29.
According to the latest FIFA rankings, Bangladesh have taken the 186th position, while Maldives have achieved 157th position and Mongolia have taken 184th spot.
Bangladesh team participated in a three-day practice session under the newly appointed Head Coach Javier Cabrera. Bangladesh team took part in their practice session at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.
Bangladesh team stayed at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, a city hotel before they will leave for Maldives.
Captain of Bangladesh team Jamal Bhuyan said, ” We shall play to win. I hope we shall get success. We shall try to furnish new record.”
Jamal said, ” Maldives are good side. We have idea about their strength.”
Cabrera is totally a new Coach for them.
Jamal said, ” Every Coach has own style. Cabrera has also different style. But as he is a Spanish, so, there is a similarity with Oscar Bruzon.”
Cabrera said, ” I have to take a challenge as a professional coach. It is my duty. The Asia Cup qualifiers will be held in June. Before the qualifiers, the two FIFA friendly matches are very important for him.
Cabrera said, ” My 23 booters are ready to play in the FIFA friendly matches. But I shall use them after observe the time and condition.”
Vice-President of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Chairman of the National Team Management Committee of BFF Kazi Nabil Ahmed said, ” We have given a special facilities to our footballers. I hope the booters of Bangladesh will give fight in the field for ninety minutes and will bring a positive result.”
