Both Bangladesh men and women chess teams were in impressive form as they won their 3rd round game in the 42nd World Chess Olympiad now being held at Baku in Azerbaijan.
In open section, Bangladesh men team outplayed Jordan by 3.5 -0.5 points while Bangladesh women’s team showed their prowess to overcome strong Uruguay by 2.5-1.5 points.
In open section, GM Enamul Hossain Razib (Rating-2431) beat Aboudi Marwan (Rating-2209), GM Ziaur Rahman (Rating-2512) won against IM Ahmed Al Khatib (Rating-2253), IM Mohammad Minhazuddin (Rating-2413) overcome FM Mohammad Farhan (Rating-2294) and GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib (Rating-2488) drew with FM Mansour Sameer (Rating-2245).
In women’s section, WIM Shamima Akter Liza (Rating-2129) beat Silva Rosas Natalia (Rating-1812), WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin (Rating-2002) drew with Larrea Deniela (Rating-1778), WFM Nazrana Khan Eva (Rating-1965) split point with Quevedo Andreina (Rating-1699) and WFM Zakia Sultana (Rating-1885) drew with Perez Cecilia Manuela (Rating-1621).
In open section, Bangladesh team earned 4 match points and 9 game points while Bangladesh women’s team bagged 4 match points and 7.5 games points in the women’s section, said a Bangladesh Chess Federation press release.
