US ambassador Dan Mozena has assured to take initiatives to make his country’s companies to import medicines from Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh will soon become the ‘economic tiger’ of South Asia and the pharmaceuticals industry will play a key role in it,” he told reporters on Tuesday after visiting a plant of Beximco Pharmaceuticals in Gazipur.
“Bangladesh is now manufacturing world-class medicines applying modern technologies. It is appreciated across the world, which is very encouraging,” the envoy said assuring to take initiatives to export drugs from Bangladesh to the US.
Mozena was accompanied by Beximco Pharma’s Managing Director Nazmul Hasan during his visit to the plant.
