Bangladesh has now appeared as an attractive and lucrative place to invest, claimed Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi recently in a meeting in Canada.
“The Government of Bangladesh is providing bundles of facilities to the foreign and domestic investors. Moreover, the paperwork for investment has been simplified and done through one-stop service,” he said.
The commerce minister made the remarks in a meeting with Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Trade and Export Development of the Saskatchewan Provincial Government of Canada, and David Merritt, Minister of Agriculture, recently in Canada, said a press release on Friday.
Munshi said the work of constructing one hundred special economic zones in important places across the country is progressing fast and activities have already started in several of them.
He said many countries of the world have already invested in these economic zones.
In the meeting, he assured those Canadian investors would be benefited and be provided all necessary assistance if they invest in Bangladesh.
“It is possible to increase trade and commerce between the two countries through Canadian investment and the use of technology”.
The Canadian delegation praised Bangladesh’s development, saying that Bangladesh’s investment policy and environment are ‘very good.’
