Bangladesh Under-17 Football team lost to India Under-17 Football team by 2-1 goals in the semi-final of the SAFF Under-17 Championship at Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka on Monday.
After a barren first half, Thanglalsoun Gangte of India put his team ahead in the 51st minute of the play.
Gangte doubled the margin in the 59th minute of the match.
After one minute, Mirazul Islam of Bangladesh reduced the margin by a penalty kick.
After scoring the goal, Bangladeshi youths tried to break the defence of India but they failed to do that. Thus, Bangladesh bade good-bye to the SAFF Under-17 Championship.
Earlier, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 5-1 goals in their first Group-A match and blanked Maldives by five goals to nil in their second Group-B match. Bangladesh became the unbeaten Group-A champions and reached the semi-final.
