Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team lost to India National Women’s Cricket team by nine wickets in the Super Six match of the ICC Women’s World Cup (WWC) Qualifier at Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo on Friday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 155 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
In reply, India romped home making 158 for the loss of one wicket when they had 99 balls to spare.
MR Meshram remained unbeaten with 78. Her 92-ball marvelous innings was laced with 12 fours.
Skipper M Raj remained unbeaten with 73. Her 87-ball terrific knock was ornamented with 10 fours and a six.
Khadija Tul Kubra took one wicket for 37 runs.
Earlier, Fargana Hoque and Sharmin Akhter, were the two cricketer of Bangladesh who fought back against India’s tight and controlled bowling attack.
Fargana Hoque hit an exact 50. Her 107-ball sedate innings was decorated with five fours.
Sharmin Akhter knocked a respectable 35. Her 82-ball calm innings was belted with four fours.
M Joshi grabbed three wickets at the cost of 25 runs, while DP Vaidya bagged a pair of wickets instead of 17 runs.
