Hyderabad Test: BD lose to India

Bangladesh lost to India by 208 runs on the fifth and final day of lone Test match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.
Hosts India declared their first innings scoring a healthy total of 687 for the loss of six wickets on the second day (Friday). In reply, Bangladesh made 388 in their first innings on the third day (Saturday).
Later, India declared their second innings scoring 159 for the loss of four wickets on the fourth day and set a target of 459 runs to win for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh scored 103 for the loss of three wickets in the second innings before the bails were drawn for the fourth day (Sunday).
Needing 356 runs to win on the fifth day Bangladesh could able to add 147 runs on the fifth day (Monday) and the tourists’ were all out for 250 runs.
Mahmudullah Riyad and Shakib Al Hasan resumed their second innings with the over-night score of nine and 21 runs respectively. Shakib Al Hasan could stay at the crease for a short period as he (22) was caught at the short leg by Cheteshwar Pujara off Ravindra Jadeja when Bangladesh’s score was 106 for the loss of four wickets.
Mahmudullah Riyad alone fought back against the superb bowling attack of Indian bowlers scoring a terrific 64. He hit seven fours in his 149-ball innings. It was Riyad’s 14th half century in Test cricket.
After dismissal of Shakib, Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim contributed together 56 runs in the fifth wicket stand before Mushfiqur Rahim (23) was caught by Ravindra Jadeja off Ravichandran Ashwin when Bangladesh’s total was 162 for the loss of five wickets.
