BD-Lanka Group-B match abandoned for Covid

The crucial Group-B match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Asia Cup between Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team and Sri Lanka Under-19 Cricket team was called off due to interruption of coronavirus at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. The officials of that match was attacked by coronavirus during the match. Thus, the two teams shared the points of that match.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka earned five points each from three matches. But by virtue of better run rate, Bangladesh became Group-B champions. Bangladesh will face India in the semi-final on December 30.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 130 for the loss of four wickets in the 32.4 overs before the match referee declared the match abandoned.
Bangladesh had a sorrow start as they lost their early two wickets for 26 runs.
Then, Prantik Nawrose Nabil and Aich Mollah contributed together 55 runs for the third wicket partnership before Prantik Nawrose was caught by Raveen de Silva off Dunith Wellalge when Bangladesh’s score was 81 for the loss of three wickets.

After dismissal of Prantik Nawrose Nabil, Aich Mollah could stay at the crease for a short period as he was bowled out by Wellalge when Bangladesh’s total was 83 for the loss of four wickets. Aich Mollah made 24 from 45 balls featuring two fours.
After departure of Aich Mollah, Ariful Islam and Mohammad Fahim added 47 runs in the unbroken fifth wicket partnership before the match was abandoned. Mohammad Fahim remained unbeaten with 27 runs. His 29-ball innings saw one six.
Ariful Islam remained unbeaten with 19 runs. His 34-ball innings had one four.
Dunith Wellalge and Treveen Mathew captured two wickets each for 17 and 18 runs respectively.
