Staff Reporter :
The Bangladesh Embassy in Baghdad has requested the Bangladeshi expatriates in Iraq to stay alert in troublesome areas and to remain cautious considering the ongoing tense situation in the Middle-Eastern country.
In a statement on Friday, the embassy also requested Bangladeshis not to attend

any gathering, rallies, and meetings in their own interests.
Bangladesh Embassy will remain open round the clock for seven days to render consular services to the expatriates in case of need. Everyone has been requested to extend cooperation.
The embassy issued the instruction following a US air strike in Baghdad on Friday which killed Qassem Soleimani, Tehran’s most prominent military commander and the architect of Iran’s growing influence in the Middle East.
Immediately after the killing, Iran promised revenge.
Soleimani, a 62-year-old general who headed the elite Quds Force, was regarded as the second most powerful figure in Iran after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
