The replacement of broad gauge interchange link in Haldibari area, which was closed between Bangladesh and India, has been started recently ( November 5) .
The process of starting the work of Chilahati area of Bangladesh is underway. Both countries will be benefitted from the development of friendly relations between the two countries. This will change with the Chilahati-Haldibari railway station’s scenario. The two Railway Stations, the Chilahati Railway Station of Nilphamari in Northern Bangladesh and Haldibari in Cooch Bihar District of India are fully running.
Regular train travels from Chilahati to Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi and on the other side of India from Haldibari. Only the train communication is stopped at the border area of Chilahati of Bangladeshi and Haldibari of India but now the work is in progress. According to sources, the Central Government of India has allocated Rs 31 cr in the construction of this railway work.
