Business community leaders at a discussion here on Sunday called for joint investment of Bangladesh and India to expand regional business, trade and commerce.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) arranged the meeting at RCCI auditorium in the city.
The main objective of the discussion was to search possibilities and prospects of setting up industries and business establishments in northern Bangladesh and northern region of West Bengal under joint private sector ventures of both the countries.
Presided over by RCCI President Abul Kashem, Chairman of CII North Bengal Zonal Council Naresh Agarwal attended it as chief guest.
The Indian delegation members also included Head of North Bengal Zonal Council of CII Laksmi Limbu and its Zonal Executive Member Sanjet Saha. Senior Vice-president of RCCI Mostafa Ahmed, President of Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anowara Ferdousi Poly, businessmen and journalists were present.
Agarwal invited RCCI leaders, Bangladeshi investors and entrepreneurs to participate in the upcoming “North Bengal Conclave-Investment Destination’ to be held Siliguri city on December 23 to showcase prevailing prospects of joint investments in various sectors in northern West Bengal.
