British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake has said Bangladesh is important to the United Kingdom because of Sylhet.
“The existing friendly relations between the United Kingdom and Bangladesh have been more excellent due to the expatriates from Sylhet,” said the envoy.
The British High Commissioner came up with the remarks while exchanging Ramadan greetings with locals at a city hotel followed by an Iftar arranged in honor of prominent persons on Tuesday.
As people from Sylhet contribute to the British economy, the UK also has a unique contribution to the economy of Bangladesh, said Alison Blake.
