Bangladesh government says it has implemented 32 percent of its Annual Development Programme (ADP) in the first seven months of the current fiscal (July-January).
The rate is one percent higher from what it was last year.
So far, Tk 271.63 billion out of Tk 860 billion ADP has been spent, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told reporters Tuesday.
Only 28 percent of the ADP was executed in the first six months.
The minister hoped the rate would be ‘close to 100 percent’ by the end of the 2014-15 fiscal.
He said the money that would not be used by the ministries and divisions would be channelled to some other sectors.
Kamal argued the implementation rate was always slow in the first half of the fiscal but it picked pace towards the end.
The government always revises the ADP. Ninety-three percent of last year’s revised ADP was implemented.
