Bangladesh reached the semifinals of the AFC U-14 Girls Regional (South and Central) Championship as the Group-B champions after an emphatic 9-0 victory against Nepal at Aviator Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on Thursday.
Defending champion Bangladesh will play the semifinal against Group-A runners-up, to be confirmed, at the same venue on Saturday.
In the day’s match, Bangladesh dominated the first half by 6-0 goals.
Marzia and Anuching Mogini made hattricks scoring three goals each while Tohura Khatun struck twice and Sajeda Khatun netted one goal for Bangladesh.
Marzia scored in the 2nd, 14th and 67th minutes, while Anuching Mogini in the 17th, 28th and 38th minutes, Tohura Khatun in the 62nd and 65th minutes and Sajeda Khatun in the 33rd minute.
Bangladesh confirmed their semifinal berth with an all-win record as they earlier defeated India by 3-1 goals in the first match, also at the same venue.
