The members of the preliminary squad of Bangladesh football began their practice session at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday marking the upcoming Group-E matches of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Doha in Qatar.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Jamie Day with his assistant coach conducted the first day training session. A total of 32 booters took part in the practice session. Bishwanath Ghosh of Bashundhara Kings could not participate in the training camp.
Jamie Day said, ” Players of India and Afghanistan took part in abroad. Besides, India and Afghanistan are better position than us according to FIFA ranking. We have to perform our best if we want to win against them.”
Earlier, Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuiyan said, ” The team of India and Afghanistan are not so strong that we cannot beat them. I hope good matches and good fight against them. I expect that we can win against them. They are not so mighty opponents.”
Bangladeshi footballers took part in their practice session amid high temperature. The weather of Qatar is very hot. The rest of the matches of the Group-E of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers will be at Doha, the capital city of Qatar. The matches will be held at night at Qatar. The temperature of the day time of Bangladesh and the temperature of the night time of Qatar is almost same. So, Bangladesh team can adapt with the temperature by taking part in the practice sessions here before leaving Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan on June 3, while the Red-and-Green out-fit will face India on June 7 and Bangladesh will meet Oman on June 15.
