Bangladesh Football team will play two FIFA friendly matches against Maldives and Mongolia. Bangladesh team will play against Maldives in Maldives on March 24. Bangladesh will play against Mongolia in Sylhet on March 29.
Bangladesh team was scheduled to play against Indonesia in the FIFA window of March. But due to complications of visa the FIFA friendly matches against Indonesia was suspended.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Chairman of the National Team Management Committee of BFF Kazi Nabil Ahmed said, ” There will be a FIFA window from March 21 to March 29 to play FIFA friendly matches. We have contacted with different countries. We talked to the football bodies of Laos, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Indonesia and Cambodia. Two matches have been finalized.”
He said, ” Our team will arrive Maldives on March 22. The match between Bangladesh and Maldives will be held on March 24. Our team will return home on March 25. Then, they will play against Mongolia in Sylhet on March 29. I hope our team will get a good result in the upcoming FIFA friendly matches. We have talked to FIFA for the official approval of the two friendly matches.”
It may be mentioned that Maldives and Mongolia are better position than Bangladesh, according to the latest FIFA ranking. Maldives have taken the 157th position, while Mongolia have achieved the 184th position.
On the other hand, Bangladesh have taken the 186th spot.
