Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Md. Nazmul Quaunine presented his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II at the Buckingham Palace in London on Friday at a simple ceremony.
High Commissioner Quaunine joined the London Mission on October 28, a press release signed by Nadeem Qadir, Minister (Press) of Bangladesh High Commission in UK, said on Saturday.
Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Alistair Harrison came to the Chancery to take the high commissioner in a Royal carriage for the Credential Ceremony at the Buckingham Palace.
Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Julian Evans along with other senior officials of the Palace and Foreign Office welcomed the high commissioner at the Grand Entrance of the Buckingham Palace.
Later, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps introduced the High Commissioner and his wife to the Queen.
The High Commissioner then formally presented the Letter of Credence and the Letter of Recall of his predecessor to the Queen.
Quaunine conveyed the warm greetings of Bangladesh President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the Queen and said he would work to further strengthen ties between Bangladesh and Britain.
On the occasion, the High Commissioner introduced his officials to the Queen. They are T. M. Jobaer, Minister Consular, Nadeem Qadir, Minister Press, Muhammad Zulqar Nain, Assistant High Commissioner, Birmingham, and Ferdousi Shahriar, Assistant High Commissioner, Manchester.
Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps accompanied the high commissioner and his wife during their return to the Mission in a Royal Carriage.
