After leveling the series 1-1, rejuvenate Bangladesh will face the giant England in the ODI series decider at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong today.
The 3rd and last match of the three-match series will start at 2:30 pm and satellite channel Gazi TV will telecast the match live.
However, in Chittagong there has been 30mm of rain in the last 24 hours and forecast shows that it can be heavy today, leaving the third ODI in doubt.
The English side had to leave the ground in the middle of their practice session at match venue on Tuesday due to rain, while Bangladesh had to satisfy with their indoor warm-up session. Both teams reached in Chittagong on Monday.
Bangladesh have the chance to win seven bilateral ODI series all in a row on home soil, and England would like to stop them from doing it. So it has added excitements among the cricket fraternity like another big occasion.
Since October 2000, Bangladesh and England played 18 ODIs where the visitors won in 13 occasions, but the hosts registered four victories in their last six meetings.
Keeping a close observation, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza expressed a bit worry about weather and pitch saying, “If the wicket is sweaty, the toss becomes a factor and then many a times the in-and-out that may have due to the rain interruptions can make it difficult. These can bother both teams.”
Mashrafe spoke to a press conference at match venue on Tuesday, ahead of his side must win match for the first-ever series win against England.
England team reliable batsman Moeen Ali expressed his satisfaction over the security measures taken by the host nation and simply said that they believe they should win the last match. “We believe we should have won the last game,” Moeen said at the press conference ahead of the match day.
Replying to a query on security measures, Moeen said, “This (security) is the best ever, I know. Still it is extraordinary.”
The hosts are likely to field their same combination that sealed a 34-run win against the visitors in the 2nd match.
England started their series campaign with a 21-run dramatic win over the hosts at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on October 7.
Though the left-arm spinner Taijul Islam back in the 14-member Bangladesh squad announced on Monday for 3rd ODI, he is unlikely to make it into the best eleven.
There is possibility of one change in the top order batting of England. Sam Billings can come at the top with Ben Duckett replacing James Vince as the opener while there is a very few chance for any other changes.
