BD elected AIT Board of Trustees member

Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand Saida Muna Tasneem was unanimously elected member of the Board of Trustees of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok. Bangladesh’s nomination was proposed by Subin Pinkayan, chairman of the Board of Trustees of AIT and former Foreign Minister of Thailand, and seconded by India, Pakistan, Nepal, Vietnam and other members. Ambassador Tasneem was also made chairperson of the newly formed five-member ‘Taskforce on Campaign for AIT Funding’ which also comprises Sahas Bunditkul, Professor Emeritus and former Deputy Prime Minister and Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, according to a Foreign Ministry media release. Established in 1959, AIT now ranks number two among Thai Universities, and within top ten and 250 among Asian and world ranking.
