News Desk :
Bangladeshi diplomat has been withdrawn from her post at the Bangladesh Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General (Administration) DM Salah Uddin Mahmud corroborated the withdrawal of Deputy Chief of Mission Kazi Anarkoly on Tuesday.
She had been brought back to Bangladesh, Mahmud told the media.
Mahmud said that a probe committee would investigate the matter, and assured that necessary actions would be taken.
Sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the media that the drug regulatory agency of Indonesia conducted a raid on Kazi Anarkoly’s residence in South Jakarta last month.
The ministry is going to take departmental action against her as law enforcement found cannabis at her residence, reports the media.
Kazi Anarkoly was not arrested as she is granted immunity under the Vienna Convention.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs later issued an order to bring her back to Bangladesh.
Earlier, the authorities transferred Kazi Anarkoly from the US mission of Bangladesh to the one in Indonesia over allegations of violence against house helps.
