BD-Denmark deal on climate change project signed

Business Desk :A grant agreement has been signed between the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of Bangladesh represented by the Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance regarding “Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Project (CCAMP)” on Monday. The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) will implement the major part of the project.The total budget of CCAMP will be Danish Kroner 80.00 million with Danish contribution of DKK 50.00 million and Bangladesh contribution of DKK 30.00 million. The duration of the programme will be from July 2014 to June 2016. Ms Mahmuda Begum, Additional Secretary of ERD and the Danish Ambassador Hanne Fugl Eskjaer signed the agreement on behalf of the respective Governments. Officials from both sides were present in this occasion.The Government of Denmark as a development partner, is also providing financial assistance to Bangladesh in various development sectors such as, Agriculture and Livestock, Water Supply and Sanitation, Infrastructure Development, Human Rights and Good Governance etc.
