BD, Czech deal for DTAA

Bangladesh and Czech Republic on Thursday inked agreed minutes regarding signing of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) to create a favourable environment for boosting bilateral trade and investments.
National Board of Revenue (NBR) member (International Agreement and Tax) Kalipada Halder and Vaclav Zika, a senior official of Czech Republic, were present at the agreed proceeding ceremony.
Kalipada Halder said signing of DTAA is needed for strengthening economic relations between the two countries as this agreement will help create a fevourable environment for Czech’s investment here.
After the signing of the agreement, businesspeople of both the countries will not have to pay tax in the two countries.
At present, Bangladesh has DTAA with 33 countries. Move is underway to sign such agreement with six more countries.
