Bangladeshi cricketers participated in optional practice session at the Sher-eBangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city’s Mirpur on Monday.
Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Kumar Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam and other cricketers took part in the training session.
The three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka will start from May 23.
To mark the upcoming cricket series, the preliminary squad of Bangladesh took part in the last training session at the SBNCS before the Eid holidays.
After the Eid-ul-Fitr, the players will resume their practice from May 18.
Though the players get Eid holidays but they have to keep some health rules.
The players can go home to celebrate Eid holidays but they are instructed to follow the health code.
Chief Physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Dr Debashis Chowdhury said, ” The cricketers will be allowed to celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr in a be-fitting manner but they are instructed to avoid the crowd.”
Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman could not take part in the yesterday’s training session. They have been quarantined in the two separate hotels of Dhaka. After ending their quarantine they will be available for practice from May 20. So, they can take part in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka from May 23.
