BD Cricket team begin practice session today

Members of Bangladesh Cricket team will take part in their practice session at the Lincoln University Ground in New Zealand from today. Spin Bowling Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Rangana Herath has tested positive for coronavirus. Herath was sent to Covid Centre of New Zealand. Apart from Herath, all the members of Bangladesh Cricket team have tested negative for coronavirus.
Team Director of Bangladesh Cricket team Khaled Mahmud Sujon said, ” We underwent Covid-19 test on Sunday. We got the result of coronavirus test today. We have tested negative for coronavirus test. Tomorrow (Tuesday) we shall take part in the practice session.”
Sujon said, ” Our members of the team will take part in their practice session tomorrow at the Lincoln University Ground. There they will participate in gym session. After that they will be accommodate in the Team Hotel. Then, we have no barrier to our activities. We shall go anywhere normally and our players and coaching staff will prepare for the upcoming Test matches against New Zealand.”
Bangladesh Cricket team left Dhaka for New Zealand on December 8. Last year Bangladesh Cricket team had to take a 14-day quarantine. But this time the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) appealed to New Zealand Cricket for seven-day quarantine this time. The Health Authority of New Zealand permitted Bangladesh Cricket team for seven-day quarantine. But some players and the members of Team Management of Bangladesh were touched by a corona patient during their aeroplane flight. So, the Health Authority of New Zealand sent nine members for a 10-day quarantine.
However, all the members of Bangladesh Cricket team accepting Rangana Herath have tested negative for coronavirus. So, members of Bangladesh Cricket team will start their practice session from today.
The first Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand will be held at Mount Maunganui from January 1 to January 5. The second Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand will take place at Christchurch from January 9 to January 13.
