A group of four Bangladeshi children have returned home after attending the Nuclear Kids festival 2017, held in Russia and Hungary, according to a message received here on Sunday.
ROSATOM, Russia’s State Nuclear Energy Corporation, organized the festival widely known as NucKids, where over 75 boys and girls from 13 countries, including Bangladesh, Belarus, Hungary, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Croatia, Turkey, China, India, USA, Kazakhstan and the host country took part in the six weeks long festival this year.
Bangladeshi children took part in the programme for the 3rd time and the participating kids were Fatin Sadab of Birshreshta Noor Mohammad Public College, Dhaka, Syed Kaysan Faraj of Bangladesh International School and College, Dhaka, Fariha Islam Tifla of Chhatak Bohumukhi Model High School, Sunamganj and Md. Khadikul Islam Pathan of Hossainpur Model Pilot School and College, Kishoreganj.
The festival was designed to foster friendship among the children of employees, working in different nuclear establishments in Russia and in other countries, supported by Rosatom, create a positive attitude towards nuclear energy among the new generation, help flourish the cultural talents in the children.
At the initial part the children under the supervision of renowned Russian music, dance and drama directors were prepared for stage performances in different cities in front of audience.
This year children performed in Russian cities like St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sorov, Nizhny Novgorod and in Hungarian cities of Paks and Kaloch. In Moscow they performed at the gala events in the historical Helikon Opera Theatre on August 17 and 18. Besides, the children visited various historical and interesting places. The programme was included educational and entertainment activities. ROSATOM has been organizing the NucKids festival since 2009.
