BD cattle trader beaten to death by BSF

A Bangladeshi cattle trader was beaten to death allegedly by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Boikari border point in Sadar upazila early Sunday. The deceased was identified as Ahad Ali, 45, son of Ujir Ali, a resident of Chhoighoria village of the same upazila.
Jhaudanga union parishad (UP) chairman Rafiqul Islam said some BSF members of Koijuri camp chased a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders while they were returning with cattle through Boikari border around 4am.
At one stage, the BSF members caught Ahad.
The BSF members beat up Ahad mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.
After the BSF members had left, Ahad’s associates recovered the body.
The body bore several injury marks, the chairman said. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion 38 acting commanding officer Maj Najir confirmed the incident.
