BD, Bulgaria sign 4 deals

Bangladesh and Bulgaria on Friday signed four instruments, including three Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs), to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, diplomacy and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME).
The instruments were signed at a simple ceremony after official talks between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov at the Council of Ministers in Sofia on Friday. Both the Prime Ministers witnessed the signing ceremony.

PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the official talks and signing ceremony.
The instruments are: MoU on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Bangladesh and Bulgaria; MoU on cooperation between the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and the Foreign Service Academy of Bangladesh; MoU on Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperation between Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency and SME Foundation of Bangladesh; and Cooperation of Agreement between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque signed the MoU on economic cooperation from Bangladesh side while Deputy Minister of the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy Daniela Vezieva signed it on behalf of Bulgaria.
The MoU on cooperation between the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and the Foreign Service Academy of Bangladesh was signed by Bangladesh Ambassador to Bulgaria M Allama Siddiki and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Valentin Poriazov for their respective sides.
Managing Director of SME Foundation Safiqul Islam from Bangladesh and Executive Director of Bulgarian SME Promotion Agency Marieta Zaharieva signed the MoU on SME cooperation from their respective sides.
First Vice President of the FBCCI Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin and BCCI Secretary General Vasil Todorov signed an agreement on cooperation from their respective sides.
The Foreign Secretary said, these instruments, particularly the MoUs on economic cooperation, SME cooperation and framework agreement between the two trade bodies, would open up a new door of potentials in the relevant fields.
