BD bowlers to face daunting task

Bangladesh bowlers will face daunting task as they need the 10 wickets of Pakistan within 92 runs on the fifth and final day, if the hosts want to draw the first Test against the tourists at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today. Pakistan need more 93 runs to win on the last day in their second innings.
Electing to bat first, Bangladesh piled up a massive total of 330 runs in their first innings on the second day (Saturday).
In reply, Pakistan made 286 in their first innings on the third day (Sunday).
Later, Bangladesh were all-out for 157 in their second innings on the fourth day (Monday).
Then, Pakistan were at the stumps at 109 for the loss of none.
Bangladesh resumed their second innings with the over-night score of 39 for the loss of four wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Yasir Ali resumed their second innings with their over-night score of 12 and eight runs respectively.
But Mushfiqur Rahim could add more four runs on the fourth day as the ace batsman of was bowled out by Hasan Ali when Bangladesh’s total was 43 for the loss of five wickets.
Then, Yasir Ali was retired hurt on 36 when the home side’s score was 90.
After departure of Yasir Ali, Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz put on together 25 runs in the sixth wicket stand before Miraz (11) was trapped leg before wicket by Sajid Khan when the hosts’ total was 115 for the loss of six wickets.
After Miraz’s dismissal, Liton Das and Nurul Hasan contributed together 38 runs for the seventh wicket partnership before Nurul Hasan (15) was caught at the long-on by Faheem Ashraf off Sajid Khan when the home side’s score was 153 for the loss of seven wickets.
After Nurul Hasan’s departure, Liton Das was trapped leg before wicket by Shaheen Shah Afridi when the Tigers’ total was 157 for the loss of eight wickets.
Liton Das fought back alone making a sedate 59. His 89-ball innings had six fours.
Then, Abu Jayed (0) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan off Shaheen Shah Afridi when Bangladesh’s total was 157 for the loss of nine wickets.
After Abu Jayed’s dismissal, Taijul Islam (0) was stumped out by Mohammad Rizwan off Sajid Khan when Bangladesh’s innings came to an end.
Shaheen Shah Afridi captured five wickets at the cost of 32 runs, while Sajid Khan grabbed three wickets in the space of 33 runs and Hasan Ali bagged two wickets for 52 runs.
Later, opener Abid Ali remained unbeaten with 56 runs. He hit six fours in his 105-ball innings.
Abdullah Shafique, the other opener remained unbeaten with 53 runs. He struck six fours in his 93-ball knock.
