Bangladesh archers gained more three silver medals in Asia Cup Archery tournament stage-2 at Sulaymaniyah in Iraq on Wednesday.
In the Recurve Women’s Team Event, Diya Siddique, Beauty Roy, Nasrin Akter of Bangladesh bagged silver medal as they lost to India in the tie-breaker of the final.
Diya, Beauty and Nasrin won the first set by 53-52 points. They lost in the second set by 54-50 points to their Indian opponents. They also lost the third set to their opponents.
They won the fourth set by 51-47 points. Thus, the result of the event was decided in the tie-breaker. Diya, Nasrin and Beauty threw one arrow each. They scored altogether 29 points.
On the other hand, their Indian opponents scored almost 30 points. So, they were declared the winners of the event and Bangladesh women have to be satisfied with silver medal.
In the Recurve Men’s Team Event, Ruman Sana, Abdur Rahman and Hakim Ahmed Rubel lost to their Indian opponents by 3-1 sets. They bagged silver in this event. They drew 55-55 points in the first set. Then, they lost to their Indian opponents in the next two sets. So, India won gold medal in this event and Bangladesh men clinched silver medal.
Meanwhile, In the Recurve Men’s Individual Event, Ruman Sana bagged silver medal on the same day. Ruman Sana lost to his Indian opponent Mrinal Chowhan by 6-2 sets. Ruman lost to his opponent by 26-28 points in the first set. Ruman Sana drew with his Indian opponent in the next two sets. Ruman Sana lost to his opponent in the fourth set.
Diya Siddique won over her compatriot Beauty Roy by 7-1 sets to clinch bronze medal in the place-deciding match.
