BD-Afghanistan lone Test match begins today

Experienced Bangladesh Cricket team will face newcomers Afghanistan Cricket team in their lone cricket Test match, which begins today at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country. The first day of the match begins at 10.00am (Bangladesh
Standard Time). State-owned television channel Bangladesh Television (BTV) and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live from the arena.
Marking the upcoming Test match, members of Bangladesh Cricket team took part in their practice session at the match venue.
Captain of Bangladesh team Shakib Al Hasan said, ” To win the match is very important for us. May be it will be a one-run win or 100-run win. The win may be a one-wicket win or 10-wicket victory, whatever else.”
Shakib said, ” If needs we shall play with two or three pacers. If necessary to win the match, we shall use just a pacer. We shall play according to our plan.”
He said, ” We played well at our home grounds. When our spinners got chance, they captured wickets and performed well.” Bangladesh have quality spinners like Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam.
On the other hand, Afghanistan have classic spinners like Rashid Khan, Zahir Khan, Mohammad Nabi.
Shakib said, ” Afghanistan have quality spinners. I think the batsmen will make the difference between the two teams.” Captain of Afghanistan Rashid Khan said, ” Players of both the teams have to face daunting task against the spinners. The batsmen of that team, who face the challenge of the spinners successfully, will win the match. I think the batsmen will make the difference between the two teams at Chattogram.”
