US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat on Sunday said Bangladesh is a focus country for the US government’s key development efforts on global health and they count on icddr,b’s research and innovation.
“We all have an important role to play in developing and scaling up public health solutions for the most vulnerable in this world,” she said.
The US envoy made the remark while visiting the icddr,b to learn about the institution and its tenacious efforts to solve global public health challenges through innovative scientific research. During her daylong visit, Bernicat was briefed about icddr,b and its works on cholera and vaccine studies, tuberculosis, strategic partnership for enhancing outbreak response and surveillance capacity, influenza surveillance, and anthropological approaches in developing public health interventions and delivery.
