Science and Technology Minister Yafes Osman on Sunday underlined the importance of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) in boosting up the country’s industry sector.
“The BCSIR can play an important role to improve
the quality and production of the industries suggesting the industries to continue their production smoothly,” the minister said.
Yafes Osman said this at a seminar titled “Sustainable Technology and the Contribution of Pilot Planned and Process Development Centre (PP and PDC) to create New Entrepreneurs.” It was held in IFRD Auditorium of BCSIR on Sunday.
BCSIR Chairman Md Faruque Ahmed Khan presided over the programme, while engineer Rupesh Chandra Ray presented the keynote paper.
He said the BCSIR took the initiative in right time.
“The motto of BCSIR is to help the industries ensure qualitative products. Most of the industries also need BCSIR support. So the institution is responsible for the improvement of the sector,” the minister said.
He also asked the senior scientists to work in coordination with the junior scientists.
“I am hopeful that the scientists of BCSIR can change the picture of the industry sector within a short time. But that needs positive thinking and sacrifice,” he said.
