Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL) has stopped broadcasting private television channels SA TV and Channel 9. Broadcasting of two channels has been stopped from Thursday night due to arrears of rent of Bangabandhu-1 satellite.
BCSCL chairman Md. Shahjahan Mahmud told the media that if the bill is paid, the two channels will be re-launched.
It is learned that a letter was sent to SA TV before Eid to pay the bill. However, the authorities did not take the matter seriously. As a result, BCSCL stopped broadcasting at 10:15 pm on Thursday.
