The activities of several Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists have been tarnishing the Awami League’s student front’s glorious history, Suranjit Sengupta has said.
“Chhatra League must be saved,” the Awami League advisory council member told a discussion in Dhaka on Friday.
His comments came after a BCL activist was killed in a factional clash at the Shahjalal University of Engineering and Technology (SUST) a day ago.
But the BCL claims ‘outsiders’ had clashed on the campus.
Sengupta criticised Finance Minister
AMA Muhith and Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid over the clashes.
Both Muhith and Nahid are MPs from Sylhet.
“The finance minister is an MP from the locality. I’d like to tell him to at least go there (SUST) and say ‘rubbish-khabish (devil)’,” Sengupta said.
