UNB, Dhaka :
Activists of Dhaka University’s Shahidullah Hall unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) locked a restaurant for two hours in the city’s Chankherpool area for delay in serving a BCL man.
Witnesses said BCL activist Shahriar went to ‘Aftab Hotel and Restaurant’ in the afternoon to have his launch.
As a waiter delayed for a while to serve him, Shahriar slapped him. As restaurant owner Aftab Hossain protested the incident, the BCL man also engaged in an altercation with him.
Later, Shahriar called his compatriots over mobile
phone who rushed in and locked the restaurant around 1pm, said Aftab.
Contacted, Shahidullah Hall BCL general secretary Khandokar Shahiduzzaman Miraz said tougher action would be taken if the involvement of any BCL man in the incident is found.
