UNB, Gazipur :Activists of local Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) staged demonstrations by blocking a road here in the city on Tuesday demanding the release of one of their leaders.Witnesses said, a group of BCL men brought out a procession from Azim Uddin College in the city demanding the release of Masud Rana Ershad, president of city unit BCL, in the morning.Later, they blocked Rajbari road in front of the deputy commissioner’ s office to press home their demand, disrupting traffic for half an hour.Police arrested two people, including Masud RanaErshad, from Mouchak area in Kalikoir upazila on Monday following a clash.At least 10 people were injured in the clash between two BCL factions over controlling jhut business at Niloy Motors Factory of Nitol-Tata Group in Mouchak on Monday.Several motorbikes were also vandalised during the clash when the BCL activists traded gunfire.
