Some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, Chattogram University Unit beat up two students of CU over putting status of quota reformation recently .
The victims are Mirza Fakrul Islam of Political Science department under 2013-14 academic session and Mahedi Hasan of Accounting department under 2017-18 session. Between them,Mirza Fakrul Islam is president of CU Chattra Federation.
CU BCL activist Sadaf Hossain allegedly said that Fakrul put status on facebook insulting Prime Minister and Chhattra League. Some BCL men protested him.
According to sources, BCL men Mamun,Zobaer,Shahid, Sabbir beat up
Mirza Fakrul when he was confabulating with his friends at Sir F Rahman hall of CU.Earlier, BCL men also beat up Mahedi Hasan on the same allegation in campus. After the incident,
Protesting the BCL attacks on students demanding quota reform in government jobs,residential female students of Pritilat hall of took to the streets and sought a safe campus for students.
The victim Mirza Fakrul said that BCL men suddenly attacked me with domestic weapons for no reason.
The duty police officer of CU police pari Sub-inspector Sabur said that police rescued two students and sent them to CU Medical Center. No one was arrested in this connection.
