BCL men beat up journalist at CU

Some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League Chittagong University unit yesterday beat up a journalist when he was taking picture from Human chain held on campuse demanding the publication of gazette on abolishing the quata system in government job.
The victims are identified as Abdullah Raqib of Communication and Journalism department under 2014-15 and he also CU correspondent at Jago News.24 com. Azad Hossen of Political Science department under 2016-17 and some BCL activists were angry with him for taking picture from Human Chian and beat him up. Azad Hossen is knows as the follower of Mizanur Rahman Bepol, head of VX group.
CU students boycott classes, exams: Students of Chittagong University boycotted all classes and examinations on Sunday protesting the Saturday’s attack on members of quota reform movement at Sholosohorin the city.
Anwar Hossain, convener of Chattogram unit of Bangladesh General Students’ Rights Protection Council, the platform of students that led the quota reform movement, said expressing solidarity with the central committee, a group of students took position in city’s Sholosohor area on Saturday.
At one stage, a faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) launched an attack on them, leaving two of the protesters injured, he alleged.
The injured-Tofail Ahmed andArjuMia, co-convener of the council-were given first aid.
Earlier on Saturday, at least six leaders of the central committee of the council were injured in an attack allegedly by some BCL activists on Dhaka University campus.
Protesting the attack, the students’ council called for an indefinite boycott of classes and examinations in all universities and colleges across the country from yesterday.
