Police on Tuesday submitted charge-sheet against Badrul Alam, former student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), in connection with the attack on Sylhet college girl Khadija Akhter Nargis.
Harun-ur Rashid, sub-inspector of Shahporan Police Station, submitted the charge-sheet to the Additional Judicial Magistrate of Sylhet in the morning.On 3 October evening, Khadija Akhter Nargis, 23, a student of Sylhet Government Women’s College and resident of Hausa village in Sylhet Sadar upazila, was stopped on her way home from college by Badrul Alam, 30, Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League unit of SUST.
Badrul hacked Khadija indiscriminately, leaving her critically injured. Khadija was admitted to Square Hospitals in Dhaka. Badrul was arrested and sent to jail.
SUST authorities suspended Badrul Alam for attacking Khadija.
