The residence of Hafizur Rahman, Treasurer, Jessore District Unit Bangladesh Chhatra League was set on fire by another BCL leader over internal feud early Friday.
A warehouse and an easy bike were also burnt in the fire, said the student leader.
Hafizur Rahman alleged that a number of miscreants led by Hafez Uddin, Vice President, distict unit BCL along with Mirajul and Alauddin of the area left the area after setting a warehouse adjacent to the house on fire.
‘Fire guts the warehouse and an easy bike causing a loss worth Tk several lakhs,’ he added.
Anwar Hossain Bipul, General Secretary, Jessore district unit BCL, however, told that the BCL has no internal feud. ‘Miscreants set the residence on fire not the BCL men’, he added.
Sub inspector Biplob, duty officer, Kotwali police station confirming the information told New Nation that miscreants set the residence on fire at around 4am on Friday.
