BCL leader stabbed by miscreants at RU

Some unidentified miscreants on Wednesday harshly stabbed a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader of Rajshahi University unit in a broad daylight near a Police Box on the campus.
The injured has been identified as Abdullah Al Mamun alias Shimul, a Masters’ year student of Islamic Studies department and also Deputy Office Secretary of he BCL’s RU unit. Witnesses said, Shimul was walking towards the campus through Kazla gate of the university at 12:30pm. When he reached the middle of the Zuberi playground, 10 meters from the Police Box, some four to five unidentified miscreants stopped him and stabbed randomly in his right leg.
Hearing his screaming, some police personnel moved in quickly to the spot and rescued him, but the perpetrators fled away, leaving him unconscious, witnesses said.
A student of Political Science department of the university preferring anonymity said, had the Police been sincere, they could have arrested the culprits at that very moment.
Later, he was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).
He underwent surgery there. BCL RU unit Vice-President and President of Muktijoddha Santan Command of RU Sangsad Sarkar Farhana Akhter claimed that Shimul was stabbed by the men of Tanmoy Ananda Avi, another Vice-President of RU unit because they exchanged hot words sometime ago.
Avi reportedly threatened him (Shimul) for dire consequence, she added. But RU unit BCL President and Acting General Secretary Mizanur Rahman and Khalid Hasan Biplob respectively denied the allegation and said that some unidentified miscreants stabbed him.
