Chittagong, May 7 (UNB) – Police arrested nine people, including a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader, from a poling centre in Hathazari upazila during voting in the 4th phase union parishad election on Saturday. Chittagong additional police super (north) Mostafizur Rahman said a police team at the directive of a judicial magistrate arrested Nurul Azim Rony, 26, general secretary of city unit BCL, from Chariaboard Government Primary School polling centre under Mirzapur Union around 12:30pm as Rony along with his party men was trying to capture the polling centre. Police also recovered a 9mm pistol, 15 rounds of bullet and a magazine after searching his body. Police also arrested eight other people from the spot.
