A thana level Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader was hacked to death in Singair upazila of Manikganj district.
The deceased was identified as Faruk Hossian Miru, general secretary of Singair unit of BCL.
Faruk, a former vice president of Singair Government College, was heading home on a motorcycle after attending a programme a
around 1:00am when a group of youths attacked him, leaving him critically injured, said Shahidur Rahman, joint secretary of Singair Upazila unit Awami League.
He was rushed to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in the capital where died around 1:00pm on Tuesday.
Rakibuzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Sigair Police Station, said police are trying to arrest the attackers.
