JSD (Inu) backed Bangladesh Chhatra League on Wednesday brought out a procession on the Dhaka University campus demanding, speedy trial of war criminals.
The procession started from in front of the Modhu’s Canteen and ended at the base of Aparajeyo Bangla after parading different roads of the university. Later, they held a rally there.
The leaders of the organisation demanded capital punishment to accused Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Syedee.
JSD (Inu) backed Bangladesh Chhatra League President Shamsul Islam Sumon presided over the rally while its General Secretary Shahjahan Ali Saju moderated it.
Vice-President Joyati Bikash Sikder, Organising Secretary Abdur Rahman Jahangir, Publishing Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Prince and Social Welfare Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mintu addressed the rally, among others.
Shamsul Islam Sumon said, “The Jamaat and its leaders betrayed with the nation during the Liberation War in 1971. They helped the Pakistani occupation forces to kill the freedom fighters and the mass people and actively took part in the killing and raping. The trial of the criminals must not be stopped until their capital punishment is executed.”
