BCL infighting leaves 11 injured at CU

At least 11 persons, including a cop and a minor, were injured on Thursday in a clash between two rival groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University unit over establishing supremacy. The injured cop was identified as Sub-inspector Abul Khair, in charge of University Police Outpost. However, the identity of the child could not be known immediately. A tense situation was prevailing on the campus following the incident. Witness said, Shuttle train compartment-based two groups ‘Sixty Nine’ and ‘Banglar Mukh’ engaged in a clash in university railway station area at around 2:30 pm. Among the injured, nine were admitted to the Chittagong University Medical Centre and two students were sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
