BCL hands over 2 students to police

Two students, who took part in a demonstration for safe roads in the port city on Sunday morning, were handed over to police from Wasa intersection on the allegation that they are pro-Jamaat Shibir activists.
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists caught the duo and handed them over to police allegedly after a good thrashing around 10 am.
The arrestees were identified as Md Sifat, 22, and Asif, 21, said Md Taraq Ahmed, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (South).
He said police arrested them for interrogation as BCL men handed them over to police suspecting the duo as Shibir activists.
Protesting students alleged that while a good number of students from different schools and colleges staged demonstration in the morning, the BCL leaders and activists along with police personnel resisted them.
CU shuttle train service suspended over technical glitch: The shuttle train service of Chittagong University (CU) was suspended yesterday following technical glitch.
The university authorities said that the train which reached the city around 7:30am could not return to the campus for technical problem.
