BCL attacks DU students, 2 injured

Some students of Dhaka University (DU) and a leader of a social platform ‘Students Against Torture (SAT)’ have been allegedly attacked by Bangladesh Chhatra League, (BCL) DU, Kabi Jasimuddin Hall unit.
The accident took place to the opposite of Central Mosque of the university on Friday.
Eyewitnesses said that the BCL men carried out an attack when the SAT leaders and some students were coming to the campus after the release of a DU student who have been handed by Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall Provost over Shahbagh Police Station and making preparation to bring out a rally protesting the torture in the Hall.
The injured students are Saleh Uddin Sifat, a student of the Law Department and Ahnaf
Syed Khan, student of Urdu Department. They are also founder and co-founder of SAT respectively. Later they were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
“Tanzir Arafat Tushar, student of International Relations Department, Rezaul Haque, student of Law Department, Sohan Sheikh, student of Tourism and Hospitality Management Department, Itteaj Hasan Rakib, student of Political Science Department and along with 10 to 15 people attacked them,” according to the eyewitnesses and victims.
The attackers are followers of Waliul Sumon, President of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall BCL unit. But Waliur Sumon denied the allegation and said “BCL did not attack them”.
Moreover, Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad staged a demonstration at the foot of Dhaka University’s Anti Terrorist Raju Monument protesting the attack demanding abdication of Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman hall provost for harassing a student.
